About this website

These terms govern your use of rubylross.com and any purchases you make. By using the site you agree to these terms and to the policies linked in the footer (Privacy, Accessibility, Shipping, Refunds).

Using the site

  • The site is for adults purchasing books and resources for children.

  • Don’t misuse the site (no hacking, scraping, automated harvesting, or unlawful activity).

  • I may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site without notice.

Physical books sold on Amazon

If you buy my books via Amazon, your purchase is covered by Amazon’s shipping, returns and customer-service policies. For those orders, please use your Amazon account for delivery updates and contact Amazon Customer Service for shipping issues.

Intellectual property & brand protection

Everything on this site—including text, poems, images, logos, characters, layouts, and the overall look and feel—is protected by copyright and other rights owned or controlled by Ruby L Ross / Weaver Books (and, where applicable, our partners).

Protected names & characters

You must not use, imitate, or pass off any of the following (or confusingly similar variants) without written permission:

  • “Ruby L Ross” (author name)

  • “Weaver Books” (imprint)

  • “The Truth Worm”, “Weaver”, “Weaver Worm” (characters/series)

  • Our logos, icons, book covers, and mascots

No impersonation

You may not impersonate or suggest endorsement by Ruby L Ross, Weaver Books, The Truth Worm, or Weaver/Weaver Worm (e.g., on social media, marketplaces, or events). I actively enforce against fake accounts and misleading listings.

No copying / no derivatives

  • Copying my books or artwork is illegal. Anyone found doing so may face takedown actions and I will pursue all available civil and (where applicable) criminal remedies.

  • You may not reproduce, adapt, remix, translate, or create derivative works from my stories, poems, illustrations, characters, logos, or website content without written permission.

  • You may not take or exploit the core series concept—a truth-telling worm (Weaver) guiding children with kind honesty—or create confusingly similar works or brands seeking to trade on our goodwill.

If you need permission (e.g., for teaching packs, reviews, or licensing), email author@rubylross.com.

Fonts used on this site

I use the fonts LazyDog and Schoolbell. These fonts are free to download from their respective publishers. Your use of those fonts (outside our site) is governed by the font creators’ own licences; I don’t grant you any font licence.

Content disclaimer

My books and resources share general information for families and schools. They’re not medical, dental, legal, or safeguarding advice. Always seek professional guidance for specific concerns.

Liability

I'm responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by my using reasonable care and skill. I'm not liable for business losses, indirect loss, or events outside my control. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law.

Events outside our control

If something beyond our reasonable control affects our ability to deliver (e.g., postal strikes, extreme weather), I'll let you know and do my best to minimise the impact.

Changes to these terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The new version applies once posted on the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
